Hike for Hospice
This year's theme is Honouring our Residents
Who are we?
Nipissing Serenity Hospice is a 10-bed residential hospice providing palliative care in a peaceful setting for people of all ages at end of life and support for their loved ones. The programs and services offered are free of charge to those who reside in the Districts of Nipissing and East Parry Sound. The Hospice relies on the generosity of our community and 100% of the funds raised stay local.
Why do we need your help?
Although we are partially funded by the Provincial government for direct clinical care, we still need to raise close to $700,000 annually to support our programs, operate our facility and enhance our residents' experience.
What is the Hike for Hospice?
Hike for Hospice takes place on Thanksgiving Weekend (October 8-11). Leading up to the date, participants are encouraged to register (individual or a team) and raise funds, or donate to one of our past resident's teams and then celebrate their accomplishments with a hike, walk, run or bike around the block, in their community or on a suggested route.
It's simple. Get together with your family or bubble, have a Thanksgiving meal, and then take a hike ... anywhere at anytime.
What is the theme?
Since opening our doors, we have served over 150 residents, their caregivers and families. In 2021, we are Honouring our Residents by creating team pages in their memories for people to donate to. Learn more about these people and their journeys.
What is the goal?
The goal for this year's Hike For Hospice is $50,000
