Introducing the SOS Youth Ambassadors Program
Working with rural Mayan community partners in GuatemalaSOS’ Youth Ambassador program trains youth leaders (ages 15-19) who organize weekly tutoring and mentoring sessions that assist students in their community to overcome obstacles to education.

The 10x Impact of every donation!

Every Ambassador provides direct and immediate support to 10+ mentees, while also developing essential skills to become lifelong leaders for the sustainable development of their community.

Every dollar you give supports a life-changing monthly scholarship for one emerging youth leader and supports 10 other bright young minds working to achieve their dreams through education. That's the 10x impact of your donation!

Meet an Ambassador: Juana Perez

Meet Juana. She is 16 years old, and already a leader in her community of Ojo de Agua. Many Mayan women in rural communities of Guatemala, like Juana, face barriers to continuing education beyond 6th grade. Juana has fought hard for her dreams and is now in her final year of secondary school. She plans to one day become a nurse. Now through SOS’ Ambassadors program, Juana has the opportunity to share her experience and support as a role model to support younger students in her community.

Become a Monthly Donor

Monthly donors are the backbone of our donor community. Becoming a monthly donor has

1. Increased Impact: Being able to count on steady support provides the basis for SOS to be able to make a long-term commitment to program participants and partners, supporting overall program effectiveness

2. Convenience: Choose how much you want to give and how you want to make your donation. SOS accepts a variety of automated monthly donation methods including: credit card, pre-authorized bank withdrawals, and post-dated cheques.

3. Be part of a community: Our monthly donors have the chance to connect with each other and with program participants through exclusive access to interactive virtual events (eg. Spanish lessons, dance classes, student participant presentations, etc) and online engagement.

Virtual events provide the opportunity for monthly donors to connect directly with youth participants of the program
